All our cupcakes are baked and decorated fresh and to order in the C&D kitchen. We use only the very best ingredients available, including free range organic eggs, Lescure butter, Valrhona cocoa and organic madagascan vanilla. We do not operate a production line or use industrial machinery; all our cupcakes are freshly baked each day in small batches and iced one order at a time. It takes longer but they taste better.
Yes! You'll find plenty of inspiration and pictures of past orders in our gallery and on our blog, but everything we do is bespoke so if you have a special theme or occasion in mind just let us know and we can come up with the perfect cupcakes. Of course, if your needs aren't so specific and just you want a nice selection that's no problem either!
Not long! We always recommend eating them on the day of purchase but depending on your situation collection or delivery a day or so before you need your cupcakes is fine too.
If you do want to save some for later, they’ll stay fresh for a couple of days in their box, or up to 3-4 days in an airtight container. Please store our cupcakes at room temperature and not in the fridge - cold air can cause the sponge and buttercream icing to become firm.

Our cupcakes are made in a kitchen where nuts are used and some of the decorations contain nut oils. All our cupcakes may therefore contain traces of nuts.
Yes! We now offer amazing gluten-free vanilla cupcakes, so anyone with a wheat intolerance can join in with the cupcake fun. If you need vegetarian-friendly cupcakes be sure to let us know when ordering and we can avoid any decorations which include gelatine.
Yes! we have a delicious vegan-friendly vanilla flavour available to order, which can be made with glacé icing for vegans or standard buttercream for an egg-free option.
Our big cupcakes are standard cupcake size - they're about 2.5" diameter (3-4 bites). Our mini cupcakes are around 1.5" in diameter (bite-sized). Our giant cupcakes are a whopping 8", and will serve 10-16 people depending on your cake-cutting skills and how hungry everyone is.
Because of the freshness and delicate nature of our cupcakes they need to be hand delivered. We’re based in Wandsworth and deliver in Central and SW London for around £4-£14. For special orders (or those with a specific time slot) we can also arrange courier delivery elsewhere in the country - let us know what you need and where and we’ll get back to you with a quote. Please note that private delivery outside the M25 can be very expensive, so if you live far away it's often more cost-effective to arrange collection from our kitchen.

For most small orders we recommend ordering a minimum of two or three days in advance, but we do get very busy (especially on Fridays and Saturdays) and the earlier you’re able to confirm the more chance there is that we can fit you in. For weddings and other large orders it is advisable to give us as much notice as possible (we can take a 30% deposit to secure your booking if it's a month or more in advance).

If you need a smaller quantity the best bet is to pay a visit to one of our market stalls, where we sell big and mini cupcakes individually and in boxes of 4 big or 12 mini cupcakes. Cupcakes are zero-rated for VAT and all our other prices (stand hire, delivery costs etc.) are quoted inclusive of VAT so there are no extra costs to add on; the price you're quoted is the price you pay.

Payment is needed to confirm your order and until payment is received your order cannot be guaranteed.
Deliveries are made by hand on the date specified in your order. All deliveries are undertaken by Crumbs and Doilies or our couriers. Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address on the day of your order; if there is no-one on hand to receive the cupcakes we will do our very best to leave them in a safe place (with a neighbour, receptionist, caretaker etc.) but we cannot keep hold of the cupcakes for re-delivery and they will be left at the address you have given us.
The goods we sell are edible and baked to order so we do not accept returns. Refunds or a replacement order to the same value will be given only in the (unlikely) event that you receive the incorrect product or if the cupcakes are of unsatisfactory quality. If you are in any way unsatisfied with the condition or quality of your cupcakes upon their arrival please contact us within 24 hours of receipt.
If you need to change the date or details of your order or cancel it altogether please contact us as far in advance as possible. Orders placed via our website which are cancelled 7 days or more before the delivery/collection date will receive a full refund on the order total; those cancelled within 3-6 days of delivery/collection will be entitled to a 50% refund; those cancelled within 48 hours of the order date will not be entitled to a refund (although refunds may still be given at C&D's discretion).
Customers who have booked larger orders via pro-forma invoice and/or payment of a deposit will be entitled to a 70% refund on the order total for cancellations made 28 days or more in advance of the order date and a 50% refund for orders cancelled within 7-27 days of the order date. Orders cancelled within 7 days of delivery/collection will not be entitled to a refund (although refunds may still be given at C&D's discretion).

We're a small team and in general if we're hiring there'll be an ad on our website. We're always interested to hear from people who are as passionate as we are about cupcakes, and we sometimes offer short and medium-term internships throughout the year.
