These cold days and dark nights have us yearning for and reminiscing about the brighter days of Summer… Remember when it was light until 10PM? Remember when the parks were full of shirtless people, basking in those rare and precious rays? Remember when it was so hot that setting up a four-tier ganache wedding cake in a warm conservatory was nothing short of terrifying? No? Well we do!
Lucy and Garey had their wedding reception in the stunning Great Conservatory at Syon House this Summer, and we had the pleasure of making a beautiful chocolate wedding cake for them. While we were more than a little nervous about the heat, our worries were for nothing, and the final result was worth a little panic. Congratulations, Lucy & Garey!
Despite a particularly inclement July, there’s no denying that it’s Summer in the UK, and that means it’s wedding season! We’ve had the honour of supplying cakes and bakes to many happy couples over the years, and we love how different each wedding is! These particular nuptials were pretty exciting, as the lovely bride and groom, Ani & Patrick, let us loose on their dessert table. Left to our own devices, we created a range of sweet treats to keep everybody going long into the evening, and the result is pretty amazing. Congratulations, Pat & Ani!
Despite appearances (drizzly cold June days, anyone!?) Summer is creeping in slowly, and that means it’s WEDDING SEASON! We love how different all of our brides and grooms-to-be are, and how they each have a unique vision for their big day. Emily sent us photos of the beautiful Hydrangeas they’d arranged for the day, and we did the rest. Congrats Emily!
It’s not every day you get asked to theme a wedding order around drought-resistant plants, but based on how beautiful these succulent inspired cupcakes are, maybe it should be!
Jess & Simon’s big day was all about the muted, pastel hues found in nature (oh and love and marriage, probably!), and we think their choice of cupcakes reflects this perfectly. We used soft Vanilla buttercream to bring in the beautiful, soft shades of blue, grey, purple & green to tie in with the succulents. Each succulent is hand-made and hand-painted and is perched on a pillowy pile of Cream Cheese frosting, topping a Jamaican Gingerbread base.
