Minecraft birthday cake (and cupcakes)

Minecraft is a huge game where players construct landscapes, objects and structures both ordinary and fantastical with precision and care, while protecting their creations from ‘creepers’ and other nocturnal nasties. Or so we were informed by Charlie’s mum, who wanted to make young Charlie’s birthday a day to really remember with a full-on Minecraft cake and accompanying character cupcakes. A lot of fiddly sugarpasting and slightly nerve-racking cake stacking later and this bad boy was ready for delivery- 10″ of cubey, cakey godness along with some handmade sugarpaste characters and super-cute cupcakes.
