When our lil girl was 2 turning 3 in Covid we were juggling full time work and nursery closure. The days were long and we made them longer by setting rules about screens etc like typical type A parents. Before nap time Clemmie and her dad would watch a Cupcake Jemma video to wind down and that was it. I think she has had a C&D cake every year since then. Always delicious and a slightly traumatic (for the parents) but happy reminder of the joy that watching someone do what they love gave a tiny lil toddler that has carried on to this day.

Easy to order, booked a week out, and even requested modification after ordering with no issue or delay, and picked up at the Soho location on a busy rainy day, but they boxed it up so well that I had no issue transporting it all the way to Harringay via the tube. The cake itself was top quality and probably the most delicious lemon raspberry cake I've ever had. The small cake was more than enough to feed 10 people due to how rich and indulgent it was. I'm quite impressed on how well they made and decorated the cake as specified by my instructions. Looking forward to the next birthday so I can order another cake from this wonderful bakery!

From the online form and pictures I had imagined the printed photo on the top would be cut to a circle, but it was square. Would have also been ideal if there was a space on the form to add notes. Otherwise the cake was great!

One small issue - I ordered blue writing on a light blue cake. In the website builder it made it look like this would be dark blue writing on a light blue cake, however when it arrived the writing was in the same colour as the rest of the cake so I had to go over it in a darker colour.

The ordering process and cake itself were wonderful. My only complaint is the location in Wandsworth was extremely hard to find, there was no one answering the phone for the Saturday pickup and they closed at 2! I nearly had an anxiety attack trying to get there in time. Regretfully, I was quite short with the woman who kindly stayed behind to hand it over to me. I would suggest putting a sandwich board closer to the road so people can find it more easily.

The finest ingredients available
Crumbs & Doilies only ever uses the finest ingredients available. All our butter is supplied by Lescure, our flour is organic from Doves Farm, our sugar is always from sugar cane and not beet, our eggs are organic and free range and we use Callebaut Chocolate and Cocoa in our bakes.
